
Hayley Miller

Hayley Miller has held positions with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and Chattanooga Symphony & Opera. She has performed as a guest with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Houston Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Symphony Orchestra, Kansas City Symphony Orchestra, Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, Portland Symphony Orchestra, Huntsville Symphony Orchestra and Dallas Opera among others. Miller currently holds Second Flute & Piccolo positions in the Boston Ballet Orchestra, Albany Symphony Orchestra, Boston Festival Orchestra and Boston Landmarks Orchestra.

As an educator, Miller has given guest master classes and performances at Boston University, Longy College of Music, the University of Rhode Island, the University of North Texas, University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Christian University, as well as through the Mid-Atlantic Flute Convention, Rochester Flute Association, and Austin Flute Society. In addition to collegiate teaching, she enjoys working with middle and high school students and is currently a Flute Instructor at the Brookline Music School. She has served as a mentor with the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, as well as guest appearances at local high schools. Previously, Miller served as the Flute Instructor at the Eastman Community School of Music.
Miller is an active chamber musician, recently working with Angélica Negrón on a curated recital for the 2022 Women in Classical Music Symposium, and premiering new chamber works with Voices of Change. Additional chamber music engagements include ensembleNewSRQ, Herd Here and Fine Arts Chamber Players.
As a soloist, Miller is a prize winner in numerous competitions, including the 2021 National Flute Association Young Artist Competition, the 2021 Cedar Luke Young Artist Competition, the James Pappoutsakis Memorial Competition, the Boston Woodwind Society Doriot Dwyer Flute Competition, the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition and the New York Flute Club Competition.
Her primary teachers and mentors include Elizabeth Rowe, Marianne Gedigian and Linda Toote. Miller graduated valedictorian summa cum laude from Boston University’s College of Fine Arts in 2013 and served as Marianne Gedigian’s Teaching Assistant while completing her Master’s degree at the University of Texas at Austin.
Miller is a Haynes Performing Artist and plays on a rose gold Haynes Fusion.
